Strange sound

Featured Replies

This morning when driving to work i noticed a very odd sound. When accelerating slowly there is a sound coming from the rear of the car. Its sort of a twang but multiple ones if you know what i mean (like a spring being compressed, twang twang twang twang) Im not sure its a broken spring as it only seems to make the noise when setting off slowly and never over bumps of pot holes  any ideas?

Something caught in the stone-guard on one of the back wheels? You could maybe try reversing and see if you get the same, or a different noise

Kind regards

Ian

Wasn't something similar diagnosed as the spring clip on the caliper as the rear pads were very worn?

Ooh right, i'll check my pads at the weekend. I baught some new ones about 6 months ago thinking mine were worn down but it was just the chamfored edge hiding the rest of the pad. Thanks for the suggestions guys

Just to update this, it was infact a tiny pebble that had wedged itself into the stone guard at the rear left wheel.
