Advice on rear brakes and anti roll bar

Featured Replies

My car was serviced by a skoda dealer on wednesday and I got a few advisories. They said the rear brakes are getting stuck on. Can anyone tell me what springs are the correct ones to put on the rear brakes ? And possibly how to ?

The other advisory was that the clamp on one side of the anti roll bar has snapped, they quoted £150 all in to replace the anti roll bar. Anyone else has that ? I thought there would possibly be a way to replace the clamp or whatever it is.

Hi cboyle7

I had the same issue with my 2004 vRS and used Whiteline lateral stops to replace the broken plastic collar from the anti-roll bar.

Been on for several thousand miles now and no 'issues'. Has passed the MOT test too!

Here's a link to the thread I posted to.......

There's also a very lengthy post regarding the handbrake springs/rear caliper sticking ( I bet it's the offside caliper?? ). You'll get all the options/opinions in there + pictures. I have the springs fitted but still have to free off the handbrake mechanism on the rear offside caliper fairly regularly. Here's the link to that.......

Hope this is of some help.

Had a problem with my front anti roll bar with plastic collies breaking aswell just got a replacement one from skoda for about £40 do didn't think it was to bad only thing was fitting it needed to drop the sub frame down

springs ive just fitted

right 1K0 615 296

The sticking brakes are the handbrake return arm on the rear calipers sticking when the handbrake is released. I found a combination of the above springs and some wd40 on the actual mechanism on the caliper to have sorted it all out!
