Tracking device

Featured Replies

Hi all not sure if posted to right forum. Does anybody know of the best security tracking device for a yeti and whether fitting is possible before you take delivery? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Trakker. They should be able to fit before you take delivery. Last time I had it fitted (2004) it cost me £300 plus £100 per year I think.

There are a few options.

One is a cheap mobile hidden in the vehicle you can track, but I don't see the point of this really when the costs of running a car are so high and decent tracking products relatively cheap.

Another is Tracker, which is trackable by all Police forces in the UK to be able to find your car.

An alternative to Tracker is CobraTrack, which has a top option including engine inhibit functionality, allowing Cobra to safely immobilise your car with Police authorisation. (handy on faster vehicles IMO)

Put 20,000 volts through the drivers door handle!. Easily tracked by the initial commotion created by the the would be thief.

I recall a story about a Cossie owner that did this, but can't remember the outcome.,

How do you put that many volts into a PLASTIC door handle?

I also suspect it is another urban myth!

I know of a farmer who wired an electric fence to his windscreen wipers on a Landy when he went to Smithfield show to deter Traffic wardens.

When one touched the wiper to slide a ticket underneath - aarrgh he got a shock. Slightly less than the farmer, who was fined £200 for assault as well as the parking ticket.
