Boost Reading

Featured Replies

What sort of boost should a stage 1 map read?

On idle it reads about -21 (vacuum) on boost at full chat it peaks about 14 psi before settling to about 10-12.

Does this sound about right? What boost do these cars run on a standard map?

vRS 2.0 TFSI.

Thanks for any advice.

Depends on the tuner--though, the K03 turbocharger can only handle so much boost to redline. Most K03 cars (TSI/TFSI) run 10psi standard and stage 1 maps boost up to near 15psi. If you have a VAG-COM cable or VCDS you can log what your car should be boosting vs. what it is boosting.

Here's a decent guideline for reference: http://www.goapr.co....datalogging.php Though it says "for APR customers" these blocks of measurement are valid for most software in the market. Log round 1 and see for yourself, or feel free to email me the logs and I'll review them with you. [email protected]

Thank-you for the offer. I have checked the boost through my mapper and 14 psi is correct at peak, drops off to about 10-12 as the boost trails off.

Thanks for the information.
