temperature sensor, any good non genuine ones available?

Featured Replies

I think I need a new temp sensor and have read up as much as I can on here. It would seem the concensus of opinion is genuine only. Well I rang up for one today and it was £37 in VAT! Does anyone have a positive experience of using a non genuine temp sensor? Any brands/suppliers to consider? What are the negaative experiences people have had with pattern parts?

I've had one that read hot and just kept climbing and another that was fine. I don't know the make of either. It seems to be a bit of a lottery.

I've tried numerous aftermarket pattern parts and most of them are naff.. just buy a genuine one.

I would like that someone explains me how to remove the temp sensor. I need to change it too. I've got a Felicia 1.3 carburetor.

If I remember correctly there's a thin plastic horse-shoe shaped key that has to be slid sideways out of the slot and then it's just a case of pulling the sender out.

Yes, there will either be a metal or plastic horseshoe shaped clip which you slide out first, it looks like it has already been removed in this picture above. The. It should just pull out, it might just be a bit stiff in there from years of build up around the hole.
