Steering Wheel Replacement

Featured Replies

HI all,

Does anyone know if the FL steering wheels will fit a pre FL car? My 05 Octavia has a steering wheel which is somewhat worn and extremely slippery. Any tips?

Ben

Yes it will fit but youll need a fl airbag too.

OK thanks. Just pricing up what will be cheaper....to replace with the same (a new pre FL item) or with a newer model item.

FL is a nice wheel!

Even just a base model

If you use a Disklok, they don't fit the FL steering wheel.

Do people still use those?

I do, always. I've used one since they came out. Might just make thieving bar stewards go to the next car and leave mine alone.

Tbh, where I come from they see these disklocks as a part of the challenge.

That sounds as though you're suggesting there's no point using a Disklok because it makes taking the car more of a challenge? That's like saying you might as well just leave it unlocked with the keys in.

Everyone knows that if they want it they'll have it, no matter what you do. I'd just rather make it as difficult as possible. If it's going to take them a bit longer, they might just give it a miss.

It does make me laugh though when you see old people, somewhere like right outside Meadowhall in a disabled space next to the doors, under a security camera or three, putting a on a disklok AND one of the ones that goes on the gear stick and handbrake, on a clapped out old Micra or Fiesta.

Disklocks are proving popular with the cars that have electronic locks and can be started through the diagnostic port.

Sorry for re-starting an old topic but...

Can anyone please confirm whether or not the 3-spoke non-msfw from a facelift octy will fit in my pre-fl 2007 Octy Scout.

Are there any other parts I'll need apart from the steering wheel and airbag?

Just to confirm - I want to swap my current 4-spoke non-mfsw with the new 3-spoke sport non-mfsw.

Cheers
