Engine wobble? A small request

Featured Replies

I have a mk2 vrs, and sitting with the car in park engine running there is a slight what feels like engine wobble. It happens every few secs. You can feel it through the seats.

I've had it into dealer and they replaced the spark plugs as one had 'degraded' and if I'm honest it's worse now than it was. I'm pretty sure that a few weeks ago I'd have to blip the throttle to check the engines running but now I can just feel it.

Can't tell if I have only just noticed it and its been there all the time.

If someone could tell me if there car does it that should pretty much clear it up, or it's going back next week

i can feel a small vibration but nothing too bad, i wouldnt call it a wobble, maybe get the engine mounts checked

I read your subject line, and thought "engine mounts?"

Try rocking the engine back and forwards by hand and if it shunts noticably, there's at least one worn engine mount needing replaced.

Is it when the car is cold? Mine does abit of a wobble if I get caught at the lights a the top of the road. Hardly noticeable. Had it in with the dealer n after 3 days with it they decided that they all do it n its "nothin to worry about" :wall:

I may have wrongly assumed they would have checked the mounts - ill report back, they have had it in for the 'wobble' and i'm pretty sure they have managed to make it worse with new spark plugs. Also its not just when its cold seems to be less noticeable when warm but still there. More just annoying now I have noticed it.

Happens in the Octavia as well.

My one did this always at idle, particularly when cold. If its running fine otherwise youre probably looking for a problem that isnt there

I have a Leon fr at the minute and it does it. It tends to come and go. Might just be something that happens with VAG engines

I feel the same in my vrs. It's only 4 months old so I'd assume the mounts etc are fine (although I've not checked). It's only noticeable in the morning first thing. I'll have the dealer check it next time I'm down there.
