Greenline II Front Grille - HELP!

Featured Replies

Hi... I need some help from a fellow Greenline II owner, please!

At the beginning of December I had an accident (my fault!) which meant I needed a replacement front bumper and grille on my 12 plate Greenline II... after much messing around the bodyshop took it in and returned the car to me, but with a "normal" Superb II grille - I promptly told the garage they fitted the wrong grille, and now I'm in a running dispute with them that there is no special grille for a Greenline, and because I don't have any before photos I can't now prove it - I am absolutely convinced (or I'm going mad) that the grille has only half the air opening at the bottom (the normal grille has a gap of around 1.5 inches the full width - the Greenline version only half width) but I can't find one head-on, hi-res photo anywhere on the net which shows that :) The garage think its just the badge which is the difference.....

Could anyone with a Greenline II (preferably on a 12 plate or earlier, just in case Skoda changed it on a 62!) please photograph the grille and post it here - needs to be high enough resolution to clearly show the difference?

Thank you (and I'm hoping I'm not mad and/or looking like a complete idiot after the dispute I just had with the bodyshop guys today!)

well here is mine just for reference its a 1.6 TDI CR but not the greenline version just a normal s spec2013-02-08154750_zps31a0def9.jpg?t=13603394992013-02-08154802_zpsac512e2f.jpg?t=1360339444

Thanks... but I think it has to be the Greenline spec (the one they've fitted is the same as yours). I'm convinced its a Greenline II model specific grille....

I've had a look on Autotrader and the only difference i can see between a standard grille and a greenline grille is the badge, I also notice that it looks like the Greenline badge only appeared on the Greenline 2, Unless you had a special grille fitted it would appear all you are short is a badge.

I was only washing mine this morning. I know it only has a small gap at the bottom but not sure if its both sides. I shall check when it's daylight. Mines a sept 12 (62) greenline.

The current Superb brochure has a head on view of a Greenline which may help you? It's available online too via the Skoda website.

Check it out.

Thanks, but that could be a Greenline, not a Greenline II ..... without a date/reg number its hard to tell. There are stacks of reviews online claiming to be Greenline II's which have pictures of standard Elegances (with 18" alloys, so clearly not Greenlines), which is why I was hoping to get an actual picture from an actual owner's car.

Its not quite head on though, which is the issue with virtually every photo I can find - you can see the right-side of the grille has a gap (left side in the photo) but the angle of the slats doesn't make it clear whether the gap stops or goes all the way across.....

I can't believe I imagined the whole thing, but the way its looking as I have no "before" photos and can't find any other photos to support things its looking like I have a weird thing about inventing non-existent car parts....

whats the difference between a greenline and a greenlineII.?

Greenline was the original version (105PS 1.9TDI) , updated with the Greenline II (105PS 1.6 TDI) more recently (last couple of years) - the II brought reduced emissions, better economy, and I believe a few more aero tweaks....

Hi, at least 18 months ago - my point is because a site SAYS the picture is a Greenline 2, doesn't mean it is (as per my example of sites with a Greenline / II review and then showing a picture of a Superb with 18" alloys which clearly isn't a Greenline / II).

Hoping someone whose actually got a Greenline II can put me out of my misery!

I had a look at my greenline II today and I have a 1.5" gap across both sides. Mines a Sept 12 (62)

I also just had a look at my 3 month old Greenline II and I also have the gap all the way across the front of the bottom of the grille

As do I. Don't forget the Greenline badge on the front.
