Yeti will be equipped with 103kW 1.4TSI

Featured Replies

Thought they would ditch the round fogs that's why Ive ordered a new one now so I don't get the ugly commonplace square design everything.

Shame though it's what gives the yeti character and makes it stand out from the rest imho.

Hopefully the 1.4 TSI will be the one with cylinder shutdown.

I thought the 103kw (140bhp) one was the one with this feature as opposed to the standard 122bhp 1.4tsi one without it?!

It is, except in the Octavia3 it comes without it.

If I had to guess I'd say the Yeti will come with it as it could really do with a boost in the economy and emissions department, particulalry on the petrol engines.

Would be interested as to why they; Skoda that is, feel that cloning rather than individual model styling is the way forward :wonder:

Looks like I'll be hanging on to our Monster for some time, as I won't have the funds to update our Yeti before the individualism is beaten out of her with the new corporate look :'(

Because some fool in the VAG empire said to Škoda: "Look how well Audis are selling and they are near one and all cookie cutter versions of the same thing in Small, Medium and Large versions". So they thought if this "everything looks the same" approach can work for Audi they must use it on Škoda too. Grrr. Sad. Especially since just in the last month Audi publicly admitted that this approach is wrong and they will now strive to make models look more individual... Poor Škoda has just not got that memo yet sadly.

Today,Mr Peter Pe?enka, director of Skoda Auto Czech Republic, came to Auto.cz and answered questions online. he said that Yeti will be equipped with 103kW 1.4TSI engine and give up the round fog lamps to adapt the Skoda's new design style.

Wonder if he was talking about Yeti 2013 facelift or MQB-based Yeti2 2015?

I doubt this would have cylinder deactivation as that seems to be reserved for the premium /pricey VAG offerings in A3 and Golf ranges.

Wonder if it will have a DSG option?
