Hi all I am getting vibration when I pull away and suspect the dual mass fly wheel is worn out,

I have read that you can replace this with a solid flywheel but I don't know which way to go . My local independent Skoda / V.W garage say to stick with the original .Has any one had any experiences with fitting the solid one .By the way I tow a caravan

regards

Stick to original. I've seen several people having problems after changing to SMF. Not instantly, but after a good use.

just replaced my clutch and flywheel after 170k

went for the sachs after being recommended on here.

flywheel and clutch kit just over £300 from euro car parts with briskoda

discount of 25%.

i also tow a caravan and worked on the basis that if it lasted 170k

hopefully it will last till in knackers yard. :giggle:

Either i'm blind or you forgot to point out which one you went for. :-)

:giggle: dmf as original.

i think you will find that they only fit dmf

from new so all the clues were there :hi:

Sorry mate, you are right. :-)

I had a smf & not for to long, as after a long distance drive I would come to change down & it wouldn't go into gear, massive smf fail so went back to the dmf. I would stick with the dmf I think.

D.M.F.s seem to have down in price quite a lot recently, probably because so many are now sold. This was the main reason for fitting S.M.F.
