Bilstein B12

Featured Replies

Hey up,

I have decided that this http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/suspension-kits/bilstein-b12-pro-kit-suspsension-kit is the best kit for what I need with going to the Nurburgring in May.

Question is, has anybody got any pictures of their Fabia vRS sitting on this kit? Also is there anybody out there who can think of any reason not to get this kit?

I do not want coilovers as they are dreadful on the roads in my area, plus I do not want to slam the car to make it less practical. A 25-30mm drop will suffice.

I did do a search on the subject but have not found very much feedback.

Help/advice/alternatives welcome.

Price for kit on the Fabia is £600

Took this when my B12 kit had just been fitted.

It may have settled a minute amount more but not that you would notice.

I have found the kit excellent, it has cut down on body roll over standard so the car handles much better and cornering is more positive. I originally just replaced the springs with H&R 30mm ones but it made the ride so crashy I found I was spending so much time trying to avoid potholes and road surface changes I wasn't enjoying driving the car.

For me it is the best mod to the car so far.

Sounds good! Did you change anything else?

Just the front top mounts and bearings and the droplinks.

Standard droplinks I presume?

Yes. Got them from gsf if I remember rightly.

What can you do for me, Damien?

I wonder Sam, when you say it was crashy were you comparing like with like,

and did you have replaced the shocks at the same time or just fitted the H&R on old shocks ?

I've got the H&R to fit you see, but mine happens to also have Sachs so be fitted at the same time.

Thanks in advance.

I fitted the H&R springs with the standard old shocks which in hindsight was a bit of a flawed plan as the shocks had done about 85,000 miles. I was a bit impatient as I had just bought my spiders and didn't want the car to look like a tractor when I fitted them.

I am sure the H&R springs would have been fine with a new set of shocks but upon making enquiries about what shocks would suit the car best I was advised the B12 kit, which came with the eibach springs, was a good combination. I looked around at prices and as luck would have it a group buy came up which solved the problem.

Cheers for that insight Sam, I had a feeling they were probably more worn shocks so I think I will continue to fit them, and many thanks again

I had the H&R and sachs for a tidy price, the former was £130 odd new, on GB, and the sachs from ECP for about £130 Fr and Rear.

Just not sure whether I also need to include top mounts, bearing and drop links into the equation too, need to get all the bolts etc but they are pence
