19 x 8.5 et 35 with stretched 215/35/19's .... go or no go

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

bought some wheels on a bit of a whim as I knew they'd worked on a lowered MK5 Golf, so thought I'd take a chance :whew:

I'm keeping the banana mobile for another year now, regardless of what happens on the redundancy side, so thought I'd freshen it up a bit.

I've got a set of KW INOX coilovers to go on and will probably lower by 45-50mm all round (so not stupid low, but not just 'springs' type reduction either)

Anyway, is anyone running 19 x 8.5 et 35 on an octy???

I'd also be tempted to go up to 225, or 235 tyres if they'd fit

Any ideas from you big wheel geniuses?

the idea of stetching tyres onto a rim that thats to wide scares the hell out of me, when i see cars with this mod i cant understand how the police allow them to be on the road. the fact that the side wall of the tyre is facing the road, so any sharp objects are going to go straight through the side wall. i understand why people do it, to get the car lower and clear the arches, good luck finding your answer though.
