Oil temp up to 110

Featured Replies

The oil temp in my greenline goes up to 110 degrees, cars done 44K and recently water pump failed resulting in new pump and cam belt under warranty,, the old trusted PD in my last Octavia was faultless, new 1.6 is nowhere near sturdy as old one, is 110 normal or bit on hot side?

Did it get up to 110 Degrees before the water pump replacement?

I don't think it's way above normal. I recently drove a VW transporter minibus with the 2.0 CR140 engine, and it's normal oil temp seemed to be about 100 C.

No, 110 after replaced water pump, I maybe getting a bit paranoid now just looking for problems

If the oil temp has jummed up like that after the water pump was replaced then I'd be straight back the the garage to get them to fix what ever is wrong. There is a high chance that it is something that the garage has done.

For referance the highest that I have seen in my vRS is 104 but that was after some 'spirited' driving.

Thanks for replys, as it is a taxi I am losing faith in the car, only replaced my old 1.9PD as it was time and before things went wrong, 170K with nowt done apart from usual stuff, service, brakes etc,,now I have dine 35K on greenline and went thru water pump, cam belt and oil at this temp. also fuel economy is same as 1.9, been a waste of cash so far and actively looking to get other 1.9PD

my petrol vRS never gets above 105 even when thraping the guts out of it.
