Very Disappointed

Featured Replies

I've been with Adrian Flux for a few years now as the service I've had has been really good but last weekend I was let down in a big way. I had 2 policies with Flux and when I bought a Fabia last November I transfered one of those policies to it from my modified Rover as the Rover was not going to be needed for a couple of months. Last weekend I sold my Octavia and when I called to transfer the policy from that onto the Rover, I was told that they couldn't quote for it despite the exact same insurer covering the car 2 months earlier and nothing had changed on the car since. They then found just one company that would cover the car but I would have to fit another immobiliser to the vehicle as the standard factory fitted one is apparently no longer good enough. I've had to start a new policy with another company so lost out on a few months of no claims.

Very displeased and unfortunately, when the insurance is up for renewal on the Fabia, I won't even be considering Adrian Flux again.

Hi,

Thank you for your comments regarding this matter. Firstly let me apologise if you feel that our service hasn't been at a level that you expect from us. I would very much appreciate it if you could PM me your details so I could at least look into what has happened in this case.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Regards,

Dan.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the response, but it's too little too late I'm afraid. What should have been simple was made difficult so I've sorted a new policy which suits me much better, allows greater flexibility and at a price 30% cheaper than what I was paying with Flux a couple of months ago. Very sorry to say it, but Adrian Flux will no longer be my first choice of insurer.

go on rovertech.net, no one has a good word to say about flux these days...

I cancelled my renewal today, £600 odd for my vrs. Greenlight is £388 hastings £339 flux could not get near it....oh well

I think flux need to have a serious look at the numbers they're plucking out the air. I seem to be reading more and more unfavourable things about them recently.

I have the same issue as topmetom.

They have quoted 700 where as Sheila's wheels ( I know ) is 330

  • 9 months later...

Sheila's Wheels?!!!   :giggle:

Adrian Flux just don't like 'Octavia Traitors'

Flux are awful. Never in 5 years have they been competitive for me.

  • 3 months later...

I have just changed from Flux after 4 years on my VWT4, checked out insurance before I bought the VRS and it was around £300 - 400 per year wherever you went on the usual confused.com etc...

I pay my insurance anually so my VW was £520 per year (which I had to haggle like mad to get down from a renewal price of around £700, bought the VRS, a standard one too, rang them to change and was quoted an additional £384.00 plus £35.00 fee to change vehicles!

Where are they getting these numbers from?

Flux's price for the year would equate to £904, I have just insured it with swiftcover for £289.

I agree prices are getting silly. I had a quote from Skoda insurance when I got the car. Emailed this across and saved myself £350

Hi

Im sorry to see the comments above all can advise is that is you PM me your details I can start to look into this, as you know every risk is different and if all the comments above are correct it looks like we could be missing a big gap in the market. I can only look into this if you send your details though. It may be a case that we currently dont have any schemes running at the moment that we can offer these rates on and sometimes we do struggle on the standard style of car.

Any more problem please feel free to PM me.

And therein lies a problem: these "schemes" that are run tend to run for 4-8 weeks (at best) which is great is your insurance is due during that time. If not, as a customer, changing insurers mid-term is a pain in the butt, money is lost, admin fees are charged, and neither are actually regained within the terms of the scheme.

The above is not really correct, yes the schemes do change but not that often, we still have some that we use from when we started. The comment I meant was more hopefully we can get some more schemes on board to be able to compete with these sorts of risks and this would have to be agreed with us and the insurers themselves.

But yes we do lose some of the schemes but they do carry on for the whole year so if you do make any changes it will still stay with the same company as long as it is acceptable by the terms of the policy you first set up.

Also we will try and keep you with the same insurer but it is hard sometimes depending on what you are changing, if you go from a standard car to a modified car some insurers will just not cover this but it all depends on who you were with in the first place, its the same no matter who you are insured with.

What happened was I informed you I was emigrating to australia 1/4 way through my insurance - you already took more than 1/4 of the money and wanted more. After that the law changed to stop insurance companies scamming in this way. If you still want to look pm me

If you want me to I would be more than happy to look into this. All depends on who you are with and how long the policy has been running for the cancellation costs. Say if you are insured for 6 months and paid £300 you would not get a refund of £150. They all charge cancellation fees and the % is in the terms of conditions of how much refund they will give.

Like I said PM me if you want to discuss this further!

It's like your not addressing my previously post but trying to placate your actions to the wider forum audience when I specifically asked you PM me.

If you read that post you will see that I said I cancelled my insurance as I was emigratiing to australia less than a 1/3rd way through the term ... you wanted to charge an extortionate amount and when i held fast you paid a debt collection agency who sent heavy handed letters.

I believe the law was changed to stop robbing insurance companies immorally over-charging their customers.

Now do you want to look at my case or make further PR comments ??

I'd absolutely LUV to join in here, but i don't want to get banned.

Robbing insurance companies you say?

Nah, never in a squillion years.

On 12th December I will be briskoda forum member for 10 years and haven't been banned yet.

So Dan are you going to do the right thing as you offered and 'look into this' - PM ME.

Forum,

I will make no forum comments whilst Adrian Flux and I are discussing (via PM) insurance issue mentioned above.
