I have windows 8 and my printer works fine...but the scanner is driving me mad......I use paint shop pro ..because I have it ...but it will not scan, it tries but says that another prog is using it....if I go to paint I can scan in a picture no problem...so I can only assume that paint is being greedy and latching on to the scanner all the time...so the question is ...how do I either stop paint from doing this or uninstall paint...any ideas how to sort this anyone.....I have tried a few other photo imaging progs and they all cannot scan for the same reason

You may need to upgrade the version of paint shop pro to a more recent one.

Just managed to find a trial version of elements 11 and that seems to work on wia ...so it looks like I will be buying that then
