A gerbil with 306hp! I want this engine in my Yeti

Featured Replies

Ohhhhh I would LOVE this drivetrain in my Yeti!! 0-60 in 5,5 seconds! Nice.

A 2,5 litre five cylinder engine. Having had two V5 Golfs before I just LOVE the sound of a five cylinder. YUM. I don't like the gerbil shape of this Q3 one bit. That sloping rear hatch (that makes the wheelbase look tiny), the chinless nose. Nah. Not for me. But the drivetrain. YUM.

Just stick the 2.5TFSI TT-RS/RS3 engine in.

Job done. :)

Just

I have issue with the use of this word. :D

I think im right in saying Richard looked at this option (as did I) - a number of downsides, almost all of which are negated by the gorgeous sound imo. :)

Interesting that Audi have put the RS badge on a soft roader at last!

Yes, a few years back Audi said they'd never put the RS badge on a Q model.

Money talks... :D

If I didn't do so many miles in the Yeti I would be very tempted, but it'd be easier starting with a petrol.

Not to mention the parts car is likely to cost you £15k... I've been keeping an eye out.

Love the engine but a fugly car. A rep pulled up in a Q3 the other day, thought I'd have a snoop around, A3 on some seriously strong steroids

I've been saying for ages that the RS3/RSTT drive train should be put into the Yeti. I'd settle for the Golf R/S3 combo to be fair.

That said the GLA45 looks an even better proposition - similar performance on paper, but 40.9mpg.

ARP are working on a stage 3 for the 5 pot. Big turbo, manifolds, map - everything you need. 600 - 650bhp and only £5000ish to you sir. Wouldn't rather have that? Alleged to be well mannered and mild unless roused, and similarly fuel efficient.

I'm not greedy. 300bhp is more than sufficient for my needs.

And mine.

Needs????

More like wants

A 60ps Citigo is all we need, or even less, but what we want is a completely different matter, eh BossFox??.....

Definitely needs.

I have to, erm, tow houses. Yes. That's it. Also I live near a black hole so need the extra power to pull away cleanly. YOU'RE NOT MY MUM!

That sounds a bargain, some of their big kits are around £9k when you add in all the extra bits you need.

Unfortunately, that wasn't a quote. Just an educated guess by the guy who is the guinea pig. He has had loads of extras done, including a custom titanium exhaust, so yes, it could well end up beyond your figure.

But what a Q car it would make in a skoda.

Yeah, but to Richard it wouldn't be that difficult after the Citigo :giggle:

I have to admit the last time I was at Jabbasport I did ask how easy it would be get hold of an RS4 and fit the engine facing the other way in a Yeti to get a real quattro set up with a fair amount of power.

Brian just raised an eyebrow and said "very".

......I did ask how easy it would be ....

Here we go again....
