Does anyone have issues when selecting first gear with 2.0 tdi Octavia?

Sometimes (not too often) when selecting first gear I struggle to get it in. I find by going into second gear, then pushing up into first seems to cancel the problem out.

I also notice that sometimes when sat at junctions or roundabouts in first gear, it feels like the clutch slightly lifts and start engaging.

Another slight issue I find is when approaching a junction in second gear, if I try to select first gear before coming to a complete stand still, there is a resistance. It feels like it wants to jump straight out of first by juddering the gear stick.

I assume all these issues are linked. Anyone have the same issue or know how to sort it?

Sounds like your clutch might be on the way, or at least needs adjusting.

Although having said that I have read on here of people needing their linkages adjusting.

Linkages need replaced. I had the same issue new linkages solved it.

It's covered by warranty if you have. On phone so can't see your details. It's going to be cheaper than a clutch or flywheel lol

I will have a check through my details. Took a 3 year warranty when I bought the car in June last year. Fingers crossed....
