Octavia mk2 1.9 tdi 105 bhp revving at 1100rpm at tickover after refuelling

Featured Replies

Hello went to put diesel in this morning and after putting fuel in car starte fine but did idle at 1100rpm instead of 900rpm rang fine but still idled at 1100rpm turned of then returned to 900rpm? was this just a blip? never done it before? many thanks.

That doesn't sound quite right to me.

When starting from cold ours normally idles at 1000rpm then drops down after a few minutes.

Never seen it rev at 1100rpm.

Might be throttle pedal or coolant sensor etc.

Fault code scan should sort it.

I'm in York and have the right cable etc if you need any help.

Just rang Dm keith £37!! Can get a Cambaire one for a £10 but is it worth it? are these any good? thanks

Unfortunately it's best to get an original temperature sensor.

The aftermarket ones either have a short life or give slightly out readings.

Might be worth checking the current one first. Might not even be the sensor at fault.
