removing rear adjusters.

Featured Replies

hey all, i want to go lower on the rear and my ap adjusters are all the way down. who has removed theres and did they remove the lot or just the winder? on an old car i removed the lot but on the skoda im just wundering if the spring sits ok with nothing left in place or was there a standard rubber cup used on the oem setup that goes in place?

any advice welcome, cheers.

I took me rear adjuster out on my ap coilovers and it went to low so I put them back in and removed the rubber piece that sits on top of the rear spring and it sits just nice mate

Oh and first time I just removed the adjuster bit and left the other bit in

thats what im thinking it might go to low as im still on 16s. might try the rubber like you have just to fill the arch abit better. need 17s i think.

I removed the top part of my ap adjusters and left the bottom part in, I didn't like it. With the 16s it was almost tyre tucking which I hate and when you sit in it it was tyre tucking. I thought it handled really poorly being that low so I've put it back up. Ye 17's might be the awnser. I've got a set of 5 Octavia spiders if your interested....

thanks for the reply and offer on the wheels james but im after something abit different. i think i might just take them out one day and have a look as it not a massive job. cheers again.

I think I follow you on Instagram joe so il upload a photo of mine with the cups out and see what you think. Ye it's only a 10 min job so it's worth it

Oh are you jamesy_mcbeath? Yer that would be great cheers.

Took my adjusters out ride is horrid. Plenty low enough wound all the way down on the back imo

Have you got aps aswell rich? Think i wil leave adjusters in and try just the rubber. I think adjusters will definatly be to much and be very crashy on the shocks.

Joms. But the set-up is the exact same. Makes them 100% solid with the adjusters out and when you put on a 2 poster ur springs fall out soo...

Joms and aps will have different damping and spring rate i expect.

You'll lose adjustability and won't be able to have them set up if you wanted to :(

I no :/ ,if i take the rubber out atleast i can still adjust when i go to get it set up correctly etc.

Oh are you jamesy_mcbeath? Yer that would be great cheers.

Took my rubber parts out today only took half hour so thought why not but it seemed to of made very little difference :( ride seems the same to me though atleast. Took it around the block but may have to settle more i dont know.

The adjusters have been removed in mine but I'll be changing the suspension soon and they will be going back in as it just sits on the bumpstops, looks good but the ride is crashy :-/

ATM I'm running no adjusters or no cup and no rubber top part

My adjustor cups have never been in the rear of my car, still brand new... I think mine sits about perfect at the rear with them out and I don't ever have any issues with clearance. The ride is a bit harsh but the looks by far outweigh the comfort issues
