New record today

Featured Replies

My 2012 Yeti managed 622 miles from a full tank - a new record for me.

The car is a 110 TDi and has just passed 10K miles. It underwent it's first service (oil change) several hundred miles ago.

Within a few miles of refuelling the Maxidot was predicting a range of 720 miles!! This is a touch optimistic however, as it would equate to a fuel economy ~60 mpg, over a full tank.

WOW........thats good going pink panther.

I've also just joined fully too :) as I've no idea what my true mpg figure is.

Strewth!! Well done!!

I've never risked going over 550 miles without a refill.

Good result, is that past the refuel bing :wonder: ; can get around 500 miles to the bing on the 4x4 which is about 50 litres (60 litre tank) or 45 to the gallon. Mind I tend to refuel when the needle reaches just under the halfway mark.

Well past the bing TP! - not by choice, I might add.

I try to refuel when the car reaches the red zone (~100 miles remaining), but found myself looking at a range of 0 yesterday

I believe the 2WD has a tank capacity of 55 litres, so must have been literally running on fumes.

I think you will find it is a 50 litre tank so you were breathing fumes for longer than you thought :whew:

Very close shave then; difficult getting a diesel going again if it runs out and you have to be careful as the fuel is also used to lubricate the expensive injector pump :S

Re fuel tank capacity then yes all 2wd Yeti's from MY11 (June 2010) on have the smaller 55 ltr Golf VI fuel tank instead of the 60 ltr Tiguan 4x4 saddle tank.

Hi Devil's chariot

I'm fairly sure the tank capacity is 55l, otherwise I'd have definitely run out!
