Short aerial for Citigo Elegance with PID?

Featured Replies

I love everything about my wife's new Citigo 5-door Elegance 60ps in Candy White - except for the unnecessarily long (visually) aerial!

I was wondering if anyone on here knows whether it is possible to fit a shorter aerial (such as I have on my Yeti) without upsetting the PID satnav functions? Do these even come through the roof-mounted aerial, or is there another aerial element somewhere?

I suspect the sat nave has a built in aerial like a tom tom

The nav option on the Yeti uses a "shark fin" on the ariel base.

So I think you'll find the PID uses an internal one like a regular sat-nav stuck to the window, hence you'll be able to put a shorter ariel on.

Seat do a short whip aerial for the Arosa which is about 12" long. I can have a look at dad's aerial on his Citigo and see if the Arosa one would fit if you like.

The little stubdy one should fit too, I put one on my Fabia Greenline II.

It's about 10cm or so and caused no issues with FM reception.

That would be very helpful. Thanks.

There was an earlier discussion on this last year. One point was the conclusion the radio was not that good at obtaining and holding the signal in some areas. I have this problem. A shorter aerial might make the problem worse and maybe that's why the original is relatively tall.

Had a look at the aerial on dad's Citigo and it is the NON anti-theft type so the Seat one in the link above will not fit.
