Congratulations. I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

snap, my GLII estate is also corrida red, with the little green leaf foils (that look like a dodgy plant leaf)

make sure you get your MDI cable, my be worth warning the dealer if you don't want the apple ipod type one which seems to be the default they offer, i wanted the standard USB one taken a while but should pick it up tomorrow

i hope not, didn't get a test drive of one, but drove a monte 75 tdi to get some idea of power etc, its always going to feel a little slow after driving my vrs but felt ok, and on the plus side loads of room in the back and fingers crossed good on the juice!

Congrats on the car purchase, wish you all the best with it -mine's Pacific blue which I didn't choose but is a bit dull but ok. Our Citigo is spring green though!

cheers, yep quite an impressive spec, added maxi dot as an extra

Wasn't available when I had mine, the one extra thing I would have definitely had.

My only real criticism of the car was the steering wheel felt cheap, but good news is the leather one (also fits Octy/Superb/Yeti) is a direct replacement and makes driving it much nicer.

You spend a lot of your time in the car holding on to it. Made it feel like a more upmarket model.

i like the one in my vrs, will try it out for a while and see how it goes!

Bossfox -isn't the steering wheel changing as it'll be the 'new' one on any new orders -I agree with you though, the plastic one I have is a bit 'low rent' but for me I have to draw the line somewhere with regards to spending money on what is supposed to be a cheap car.

Whats the "new one" like?

GL2 is a pretty cool little thing; very frugal but I have to be honest after having a PD130 engined MK1 a 1.6 TDi 105 would have been my choice, either in SE+, Monte or Elegance spec. Just concerned longer term you may find it underpowered as it will be alot slower than what youre coming from; 1.6 is still ludicrously cheap to run too.

depends on the reason for buying it

it can be fun trying to find the most economical stratergyfor driving it,

i got mine as i needed something quick, after writing off my roomster, and something cheap to run and really grown to love the little thing

the 3 cylinder engine has a nice tone when you give it a bit of loud pedal over 3k rpm

is the new steering wheel more of a soft feel?

In all all honesty I don't know whether it will be softer or not as I have only seen photos of the newer style steering wheel in plastic. I have seen a leather version in the Rapid but that isn't much help in this context.

Just a note on the servicing, I asked the salesman if you could have gl2 on extended servicing and he said you defiantly not, so I rang skoda and confirmed you could!

I love the sound of my GL2. My 11 year old son says it sounds like a 'muscle car' when you accelerate!

I still have my motorbike for some excitement if needed!
