I need a hand here.

today i installed a Pioneer double din SPH DA100 app radio touch screen head unit in my mk1 fabia vrs. it works great, however there is one big problem I've encountered. many of the features are not accessible unless the handbrake is on, this wasn't necessarily a problem as i thought i would just not connect the radio to the handbrake. however if you do this it thinks the handbrake is off so you can't use it properly. i was wondering if anybody knew how to access the handbrake switch cable so i can attach it to the radio? and if anybody knows knows any decent bypass kits for these things.

Generally you need to ground the blue/white wire, so just strip a tiny bit of the coating back from the negative black wire and attach the blue.. works for most head units..

I know this is an old thread but I don't suppose you have any pics of this installed?
