Fixed or variable service?

Featured Replies

Do you need ignition on to do this?

With the standard non maxi dot the ignition on is not needed. Open the door and the dash display comes on. I can't remember whether you turn the dash knob CW or CCW, turn the knob and let it spring back until the spanner appears with the miles remaining to service.

I think I have the maxidot display

How to tell maxi-dot: when you open a door the display shows a full size view of the car showing which door(s) are open.

If you have maxidot then press the up/down rocker switch and hold for 1-2 sec. A menu appears. Use the rocker to run up/down the menu until you reach "settings? set up?" - select by pressing the button under the stalk. Run down the menu to "service interval", select, then select "time to service".

That will tell you how many days/miles to service.

Can't help on non maxi-dot.
