engine managment light

Featured Replies

Hi all new to this.

Can any one help me got a skoda fabia 1.2 htp 2003, the engine light keeps coming on and goin off again within about 100-130. This all started after a garage change the front flexible part of the exhaust. I have had a scan and its a problem with the fuel bank trim 1, which they is the oxygen sensor in the manifold or the cat. In my thinking if it was a problem with either of these it would permanently on. If anyone has any advice or comments I would be very greatful.

Chris

Its a faulty sensor if its intermittent. I'd replace that to start with.

Thank you. Some did suggest a fuel rely. But the only information I can find on that leads to fuel pump.

What engine code is your 1.2?

What fault code number has been found on the scan?

Is it the same garage that fitted the exhaust part, that are scanning and diagnosing your car?

Was it just a new flexi section that was welded into the existing front pipe, or a whole new front pipe that was fitted? Have you had a look under the car since?

I would have thought that a faulty oxygen sensor would give a code directly 'accusing' the sensor, rather than a fuel trim code, but not sure.

Whereabouts in the UK are you based?

Not sure on either of these will find out. Is it the same garage that fitted the exhaust part, that are scanning and diagnosing your car?

No its two drifferant garages. My partner took it done at kwit fit whilst i was at work. Iv had a bad experiance with in the past so wouldn't go there myself. Was it just a new flexi section that was welded into the existing front pipe, or a whole new front pipe that was fitted?

It was a completely new front pipe.

Have you had a look under the car since?

Yes I have serviced a couple of times since everything looks fine with the knew pipe.

That's what I thought but I'd thought I'd ask.
