OK. Wife has had an SE for a week now. First impressions. Lovely engine note. Fun to drive. Feels like you are going faster than you are. Really good space for a small car. Nice on the motorway. Steering wheel can obscure the Speedo. Wipers are bit obstructive, at their furthest reach they bunch up right in my line of sight. Transmission it's noisy, gets quieter in the rain. Can't stick a sat nav or phone in the middle of the dash. Clutch gets smelly of you use it too hard. Nice hidden features. Wiper tricks, hill assist

Someone else with the speedo obstructed by the steering wheel.Not an isolated problem then.

The problem is that there is no movement in the steering wheel I gather ? Is this also an issue in the up and mii ?

Yes, they all have up and down adjustment, but not reach adjustment.

As a tall driver I found this a bit of a problem, the steering wheel is quite close to the dashboard and I could have done with having it 5cm or so further back.

Due to this I found I was sitting closer with my knees up in the air, which became uncomfortable due to a lack of thigh support in this position.

I think the lack of reach is the issue. Both the roomy and Mazda5 before that had it and wife and I used the same seat/wheel settings with no problem. In the Citigo I have to fiddle everytime. So far I have found the only way is to make the wheel too high.

Steve, good to hear your first impressions. Your clutch is still bedding in (prolly you know that) and will become smelly a bit too easily to start with. Should be fine once bedding in though. Transmission will quieten slightly as the gears bed in too. The engine will also become more responsive and powerful with a couple of thousand miles on the clock. All good! But from what I am reading, the sound deadening is very lightweight on the car and some extra sound does seem to travel through the vehicle over and above the bigger cars in the range. Thanks for posting your impression. It's very helpful to know these things as I'm going with my wife to drive one today or tomorrow.

PS. I'm quite tall so I may need neck shortening adjustments to be able to see the speedo then!!

I'm 5' 6" so being tall may not be the issue. Also the car is 6 months old with 3k miles. Should I be worried about the clutch?
