Hello all , i was browsing on ebay yesterday and came across this

I dont know if its any good but ive always fancied a dump valve for my 1.9 tdi vrs , would anyone recommend this or do you need a hybrid turbo etc ? Thanks J ...

Dump valves are designed for PETROL engines, not diesels.

To get it to open you need back pressure, which a diesel wont give you. Complete waste of effort on an engine designed to power at low rpm.

There are kits out there with electric solenoids that open the valve when you release the throttle, but all they do is make a noise and kill engine braking.

Don't do it! Hybrid turbo, decat exhaust and a jabba sport cone in the box makes an awesome noise though!

Agree with Dan here, get an awesome noise from the actual turbo and not something that makes synthetic noise that everyone will recognise and call you a div :wonder:
