So after a string of minor issues with my one year old S4 I have a resolution to me dumping it back at thier dealership.

They have swapped my S4 for a brand new S5 which is currently at the docks. Only a small extra charge to me on the monthly. Such a result for me. The cost difference is huge and Audi have covered most of it. Massive thanks to Audi UK customer services and a certain someone who will get a bunch of flowers from me.

Spec as follows:

Phantom black

20 inch wheels

Convenience pack (folding mirrors, memory seats, dimming mirrors, each key remembers each persons preferences etc)

Tech pack high including voice dialogue system

Black edition (flat bottom steering wheel, B&O speakers, black styling pack, etc)

Drive select

Damper control

I'm absolutely over the moon and I have been really looked after. More details to follow.

In currently in their brand new S5 cab as well which is also nice of them.

As much as I sympathise with Nickys problems I wouldn't let them put you off the S4. Like any manufacture / model they all have some issues, its how they are resolved that matters

No issues on my S4 to date (touching the nearest piece of wood). Definitely recommend

I do like the S4/RS4 Avants, or estates as I call them.

They just do so many jobs. Probably my favorite Audis.

Sorry to hear yours was a pain and good luck with the S5.

No doubt the resale value is a reasonable perentage so if it's on PCP the future value does not make the payments horrendous.

Plus good to hear Audi are looking after you, although 6 visits to the dealership in 6 months is a joke TBH.

Payments to some people would be horrendous (such as my Mrs)! The S5 seems a little more driver focused but yes Avant Audis are brilliant.

Got the one little one and the S5 is surprisingly well equipped. IF we have another one then back to an avant. RS4 maybe.

Must say i do like the S5 more than the S4, don't know why, just feels more special. Had to deliver a 6 month old one to a customer a couple of weeks ago and it was a most enjoyable 250 miles.

Have to say Audi are falling over themselves to keep customers happy at the moment.

i get a lot of funny looks when in driving in the horrible weather with the roof down. It's quite amusing how can I tell everyone is judging me.

The S5 does feel more special you're absolutely right. I think it's the shorter wheel base and the lower stance. Otherwise they are pretty much the same car.
