How to remove a dog guard from a vRS Estate

Featured Replies

I need some help about how to remove a Skoda dog guard (Skoda part number DMM 620001) from my 2010 model year Octavia vRS estate

This item was fitted by the dealer when i took delivery of the car, and I did not get any fitting instructions

I am selling the car, so want to remove the dog guard to sell it

I have succeeded in removing the top wire mesh section, but cannot work out how to remove the two arms (that the mesh section screws into) that are visible when you pull down the back rests of the rear seats - they seem to clip over the brackets that the rear seat backrests clip into, and are very firmly attached to the bodywork at the bottom of the arms

Any help would be very much appreciated

Just allen keyed brackets holding them on. They're bracketted in two parts on each join, so from memory that's one top, one bottom for each strut. As soon as you undo the allen keys, you should see the the bolts and the little plastic housing bits start to just come apart until they seperate from the main strut completely. Should be easy to work out when you look at it.

Don't mention it.

Oh, you didn't.

Nope, not even close, just think it's polite to thank someone. You obviously are happy to let the world degenerate into unnecessary rudeness.

Don't know why I bother.

Maybe he found a method elsewhere and never checked back on the thread?

That's a sensible answer. Just used to people being insincere these days.
