Octavia 20V Turbo .. suggestions for power boost

Featured Replies

I have quite a few cars but what concerns us are the Skodas that i own--- i have a Skoda Laura L&K 1.9 Diesel Automatic and A Skoda Octavia 20V Turbo Manual....

I've recently developed a taste for track racing that happens here in Delhi on F1 track and i've been taking my Octavia 20V turbo ..

its great there.. love the pick up .. unfortunately a bit too heavy for track.. so the last time i went there.. i smoked my newly installed break shoes..

now what i need help with is.. that its a car i can spare only for track days.. and i'd love to do something about it without spending a fortune on it..

nothing that i'd like to do to it cosmetically.. but i would like to add some raw power and grip.. so i'm supposing i need to change the tyres, rim, brake system and few things in the engine like air intake , exhaust (don't know if i'm required to change this at all- though would prefer not to.. like i said before.. don't wish to spend a fortune on this.) and Turbo charger if required to be changed... which i think is required..

so anyone who could help me out with this for i have not much info about how to go about it..

PS- i don't want to create a complicated car that's always parked in a workshop.. so whatever suggestions you do give, please do keep in mind, i'd like it to be a comfortable road car that is not a showoff and that i can take on long trips without being worried about it breaking down in the middle of nowhere ..

looking forward to hear from you experts

cheers

if you dont want a complicated car, go for weight saving, strip everything you dont need, then uprate your brake pads, uprate the suspension and bushes, remap the engine, and go for a diff, that way you should have around 200bhp, with a car that can put the power down

power without handling, is worth nothing imo!

rarb and front r32 bar would be good start in the bends
