Aerial booster install ..

Featured Replies

Bought a 12v aerial booster and just want to confirm where I'm putting the red wire to draw power? There's a solid red wire on the brown block behind the symphony is that the right one to put it on to? Or is it the black block if so which colour do I want? Thanks

my receptions crap too, hardly get any solid stations anymore after putting my civic type r aerial on.. i know it will affect it as its not made for the vehicle. but ive been told an anti static filter will do the trick, is matey just having my pants down there, what hes saying does make sense but i was originally thinking of a booster myself..

Hey mate finally managed to get it in and set up I wasn't expecting miricles but its actually brilliant! Previously parked on my drive couldn't get radio1 atall with stubby on now I get it just as clear as my ipod through my connects2, only problem is with anything behind the headunit there is no room atall so probably best to poke it up behind the heaters there's a little tray there costs about £5 In all 12v aerial booster from eBay and the relevant adapters for aerial and headunit din to ISo and vise versa other end I think. Just poke the power lead in the same hole as the brown and red striped cable on the black block and will draw from there when ignitions shouldn't fall out as there's no room for play behind h\u if yours is standard like mine. Only thing I've noticed is when I charge ipod and listen to the radio the booster plays up think that's just all the cables crossing round right behind it though might be bad earthing on the iPod unit. Get one!

Strange I have just that aerial and it's the best aerial I've ever used. In fact it's so good I keep getting traffic announcements from BBC Bristol and BBC Somerset in South Wales. It's even better than the original. I do have an aerial booster in conjunction with a Pioneer aftermarket stereo though.

You have to remember that the original stereo either has: a) an aerial booster built in or, b ) feeds power to an existing amplifier in the aerial base that aftermarket stereos are unable to. One is really needed.

Oh and to answer OP's question, there's normally a blue wire coming off the stereo with a bullet connector, intended specifically for this purpose.

im running an aftermarket double din alpine, which is great, with the civic type r aerial as stated, so i should invest in an aerial booster then you suggest?!
