Removal of Fabia Wheel Trims

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any tips for easy removal of the wheel trim on a Fabia? The toolkit includes a trim removal tool which was about as useful as a chocolate fireguard in that it immediately transformed itself from a useful looking curved piece of metal into a useless looking straight piece when put under leverage using the wheel nut wrench, as described in the owners handbook. I had intended to cycle the tyres this evening but immediately lost enthusiasm for this elementary spot of car maintenance on discovering that my workshop skills had sunk to an all-time low. Admittedly I probably could have found a way of forcing the trim off if I'd really needed to change the wheel but I don't want to risk spoiling its pristine appearance just for the hell of it.

Any relevant advice gratefully received.

Just pull them, the clips aren't on the edge like a usuall wheel trim, but are about half way in, I think there is 8 of them. Mine popped straight off as they have holes all the way round so I get my fingers close to the clips.
