Cant Access a Module Using VCDS

Scanned a members car last night and they wanted a few things changing.

Auoto scan worked as normal but when I wanted to go in to individual modules I encountered a problem ive not had before.

Module 46 could not be accessed.

I tried other modules and no problem accessing them. In particular 09 (made the changes there instead of 46)

What might be the reason for this?

Is it connected to my cable /software or is it the car?

What age was the car?

Most (all?) modern VAG’s no longer use 46, it’s now in 09.

It was a 61 plate so im assuming MY2012
