Electric drivers seat

Featured Replies

Guys, I've found a leather interior for my 58 plate elegance, however it has a drivers electric seat, mines in non electric, can this be fitted, how difficult would it be for a very competent auto spark to do, or is it a coding issue??? Anyone help?

Anyone?

I think fitting the motors might be problematic due to them being memory controlled. It may be easier to strip both seats and fit the leather/foam from the new seat onto your existing frame.

It's only the drivers seat. Passenger is manual.

Was thinking that might have been the best option to strip the seat down.

But also would like to see if its poss to retrofit the electric seat as its a nice wee extra.

Anyone else feel free to post up advice

I'm sure someone else has already done this so may be a thread about it some where. Like most things, it probably can be done but it may be costly.

Sarge.

I'm not entirely sure this will be possible.

The electric memory drivers seats are fitted to L&K models. The memory function not only remembers 3 separate seat positions, but also the position of both door mirrors.

I'm not sure if the memory function is performed by the seat itself, or some sort of memory module fitted to the car........I suspect the latter. If this is the case then getting the memory function to work will be difficult at best. Also the door mirror memory function requires the mirrors to have special memory motors....so you can probably forget about getting that function to work.

However it may be possible to wire up the seat electrics so you can move it electrically......but it'd be a lot of work. And I'm not sure it's worth it if you're not getting the memory functionality.
