VAG-COM - can I adjust tickover

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 1.9tdi 100 which ticks over about 1200 rpm. If I buy an OBD2 interface will the VAG-COM freeware software allow me to adjust the tickover - or simply read it?

Also any idea why I got no replies to my Fault Code post http://www.briskoda.net/forums/t29751-help-with-fault-codes-please.html

Did I break some protocol or do something else wrong?

Thanks Colin

I suspect you need the registered version as I don't think the freeware version can write any information back to the ECU.

I'd guess you got no replies to your other question as no-one knows the answer :D Worth posting it on http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/ as I believe the VAG-COM people look in on that site..... :D

Engine Module.. Forget the exact channel but it has 32678 or 32768 in there as standard. Adjust it up or down and see the idle revs rise or lower.

Check out the Ross Tech site for more info

Usually the engine revs rise to 1200 if it detects a problem somewhere... either one of the sensors or maybe the throttle position sensor isnt reading 0 when not applied.

Mine ticks over at 903 rpm if you want a figure to set it to.

Best wishes

John
