Safety Cameras/Citigo PID

Featured Replies

I've got my Citigo PID working with the 'pocketgps' camera database in that it shows cameras as POI's on the map display but I cannot see any way of getting it to make a warning sound to notify that a camera is near, so I also run the 'pocketgps' CamerAlert app on my Nexus 4 with the screen turned off to give me audible warnings which match up with the cameras shown on the PID display. Unfortunately I cannot get the Nexus/CamerAlert sound output to route to the PID via Bluetooth so have to rely on the Nexus speaker for the audible warnings. (Sound routes perfectly for phone functions).

It works but not a perfect solution so:

1. Has anyone managed to get the PID to generate it's own warning sounds when used with the 'pocketgps' database & if so how?

2. Can anyone solve the sound routing via Bluetooth of the Nexus/CamerAlert app combination to the Citigo PID.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

If no-one has an answer you could try the Maps n More section of the up! forum

Does this mean that the PID doesn't have any camera alerts as standard?

Will have a look thx.

You can buy a subscription to the Navigon cameras (I think £25 per 12 mths), but the pocketgps database is generally considered as being the most comprehensive & accurate,
