Soon to be Yeti owner in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just test drove a Yeti for the first time today. I was very impressed. Honestly, I was convinced with this car before the test drive. I am a former Subaur Outback 3.0 owner and most recently an Evo X. I cant live without a Turbo and all whell drive/4x4 anymore.

It was a tough call between a Tiguan and the Yeti. The price, specials, and uniquness is what got me the most. I would also love to do some simple mods in the future. Im hoping to recive the 1.8TSI this week.

They just started selling the Yeti here about 3 months back. They only sold about 6 or 7 to mostly British and German buyers ( I thought the buyers would've been Russian). I guess ill be the first American to buy one here. The Yeti recieved the "Best car of the Year" award in one of the big car magazines in the UAE. I havent seen it on the road yet.

Regards,

Ramsey

Welcome to Briskoda. The 1.8TSI engine is wonderfully smooth and competent. :)

1.8 engine is best lump in my opinion in the Yeti: as DSW said it is pokey and refined. Most go for the Diesel here because of economy but with cheap subsidised petrol you don't have to worry about that!

Here deisel is more expensive than Petrol. Both are super cheep throughout the Gulf States. It will cost less than 30 US dollars to fill up a Yeti with the highest fuel grade(93). In Saudi Arabia it would cost about 15 US dollars.

I liked the DSG. I got used to the Duel Clutch Technology from my Evo X (which was a bit quicker when it came to switching gears).

They dont offer any engines options on the SEAT and Skoda models here (very small market, but steadily climbing). The VW group only uses petrol engines here.

15 US dollars?! Wow!

Personally I think the 1.8TSi is the pick of the engine line up and it has plenty of potential (see my sig).

Enjoy your new car. :)
