2009 1.9tdi se - What brake discs

Featured Replies

Need new disc/pads on the front but Europarts is coming up with 2 choices.

Pagid Brake Disc (Front) Part No.: 104441228 or

Pagid Brake Disc (Front) Part No.: 104441238

Obvious differences are thickness and diameter, any ideas which I need or does it not matter?

The size will matter.....the caliper carriers are positioned for one size or the other.

DSG or manual?

I think 1.9 TDIs with Manual transmission have 280mm disks, 1.9 TDIs with DSG have 288mm disks.

Try MTEC brakes that's where i purchased my brakes from and had no issues. The customer service team there are excellent.

I think you can rule out the 321mm discs.......they are only fitted to certian 2.0 TDI CR cars and vRS models.

According to the OP's details, he has a VRS, so we can't rule out that the larger ones are the correct ones for his car. Both Pagid and Eicher 312mm discs as well as the two smaller sizes are listed for my own car, 1.9TDI, and it is the same list shown for a VRS. But the title of the thread mentions 1.9TDI. So which car is he needing the discs for?

Yes, I noticed that too.....I assumed it was for the 1.9 TDI.

I know ECP lists the 312mm discs for the 1.9 TDI, but I think that is down to a limitation in the ECP database.

OK, done a bit of research on ELSAWIN. The brake specs show that the 1.9TDI have either 280 or 288mm discs fitted.

Manual 1.9TDI has 280mm, DSG 1.9TDI has 288mm, 4x4 1.9TDI has 288mm. Figures valid from 2006 onwards cars.

Just as I thought.

Perfect thanks - No VRS anymore, 105pd manual :wonder:

Will be the 280mm going by that.
