best coilies

Featured Replies

i`m after a set of coilies for the vrs

i want it to sit lower say arch an inch above tyre while keeping the standard/ oe feel.

didnt think i would need coilies for this but apparently thats the only way of dropping it enough so the car doesnt look like a landrover

havent even bought the car yet lol, getting it later on today

i`m buying it as a daily driver and i`m already thinking of coilies ,stupid or what

For that sort of money, AP coilovers seem to be popular at around £450

I have the KW variant 1 basic around £450 and they are great. I have them set quite high as I live out in the sticks, they look to go very low though. Far lower than one would call 'sensible'. Pretty comfortable as far as my limited experience of coilovers goes. Don't need shortened drop links which is a bonus!

They don't exist any more! Got replaced with Weitec GT's @ ~£700!!

Lucky buy mate, I'm looking at APs for £410.

APs got mine from rude racing, who price matched venom motorsport and gave free shipping, very good service also!

im buying ap's next month

Saw a set of V-Maxx coilovers getting fitted at Unit 18 today, hight and damper adjustable, looked like a read nice bit of kit.

The ones being fitted to the Cupra by any chance? Spoke to Ali about these briefly aswell today and that he was pretty impressed with how they performed. I'll definitely be interested in them once funds allow!

are the aps any good then and what the hell are helper springs, ive got coilies on my scooby but never heard or recall seeing helper springs

ive seen the aps for 370 delivered

Where for £370? I really want coilovers too but they're so god damn expensive and I'm staying away from the cheap sub £250 coilovers.

How recent is this though, because they quite recently revamped them and they are now produced in Europe as oppose to china (iirc).

For around the £400 mark the AP kit is one of the best options, let me know if anyone needs any info or prices.

I'm running vmax on mine. Rides fairly good and it's "sat on its arse".

:p

i dont know ,cant be arsed to look through all the google listings again. we need a tried and tested sticky on here. i have noticed most of the cheaper coilies as in under 400 squid seem good for the first few months then they start to suffer. knowing me it was probably 1066ad

Yeh that was me! :) I did wonder if it was you as I met up with Chris last week down at the Unit, but wasn't 100% as I didn't see you roll up in your black Fabia haha!

Back to the Coily's though, it'll be nice to see some user feedback on these V-Maxx's once people that have had them fitted have given them a good thrashing! By what Ali was saying though, they do definitely seem a good 'bang for your buck' setup. Just hope they keep performing well in the long term!
