I've been a Skoda owner since 2001 when I got my Octavia Elegance estate 1.9TDI, but about 1990 I remember telling my wife we should buy a new Rapide Coupe because it would probably be the last rear engined car available in the UK (bar a Porsche!). Although we got as far as a test drive, I just couldn't persuade her.

Anyway, I've watch the steady re-emergence of Skoda and I've got to say that the Octavia has been one of the best cars I've owned. I've covered 42k now, including towing a caravan and it still goes like a train and gives 55mpg

Can't recommend them enough!
