18" zenith wheels

Featured Replies

Are 18" Zeniths hard to come by,i am looking for a race blue octavia but want the 18" wheels but this drastically limits the amount of cars available but there are plenty of cars for sale with 17s.So have been hunting for 18s now for a week or two and not even found one set....didnt think they would be hard to come by tbh but obviously i am wrong:(

Shouldn't be only early ones came with 17", mine was the opposite hard to find any with 17"

Got mine off eBay, might be swapping for black neptunes in the future....

I havent found a single set yet, there like rocking horse poo

Bit like Pegasus alloys. They're the same so rare.

Might be persuaded to sell mine when you find a car, was thinking of a slight change, though they have four brand new Avon zv5's on them, so I'd want some good money for them, few kerb marks nothing major

May be interested trev, depending on wat i buy...want something this weekend as we are all travelling in a transit at the mo...not a fan of avons though if u wanted to sell them separate :(

Agreed, to buy the wheels by themselves is tricky as they don't come up in full sets very often (just singles most of the time)

However, the vast majority of used vRS's on Autotrader and eBay Motor's are on 18" Zeniths, where are you looking?

18" alloys have been standard on UK spec vRS's since 2007, finding the early vRS's (or Irish imports) that are on 17's is the challenge!

Could do mate I didn't really want to go up a size so I'd be sticking with 18's,

How much you looking to pay? I have a set without tyres in excellent condition. PM me if you are seriously after a set.

Although when I bought my vRS petrol race blue last month, I wasn't purposely looking for the 18" wheels, but the one I bought luckily was in great condition and had the 18" upgrade.

I noticed that in my many months of looking for one, none of the sellers mentioned they had the 18's.. even the guy I bought mine off!

Agreed.

If you are looking at sub £5k cars then I guess a lot of them may have 17's but from early on in the cars life there was an offer of a free upgrade to 18's along with climate control and the 'jumbo box' armrest, then it became standard shortly after so the vast majority of vRS's have these.

It would be difficult to find an '07 car with 17s I reckon.

Possibly found an 06 plate car with sensible milage but on the 17s :(,,but has a sunroof :)

I have a set of 18" Zeniths sitting in my garage, I have started the refurb process, but got bored so they need finishing, what sort of money would they be worth without tyres?

Is there really such a difference with 17" wheels instead of 18" it wouldnt put me off buying the right car if it had 17" wheels. If anything the ride may be slightly better on 17" wheels.

still never fitted those Andy?

Nope, had the winter rims on. I am torn between getting the tyres and fitting the 18s or keeping the 16s on and changing cars.

There is change in the air at work, so not sure which way to go, will know for sure in a few weeks after the dust has settled ........

17" are the perfect size imo, maybe not for looks, but for handling etc..... I have 18's on the vRS but 17's on swmbo's Golf GT, the ride is far superior. If you are that bothered, you can pick up a decent set of 18" wheels on here, the Golf GTi forum or ebay easy enough and for reasonable money, I paid £600 for a fully refurbished set of BBS CH rep's with nearly new tyres from a member.

Peronally, I would get a set of 18's and put winter tyres on the 17's. :)
