xenons now standard on vrs?

Featured Replies

Well i should be getting a brand new vrs estate this week. I didnt expect it to have xenon lights at all however the skoda web page now states xenons are standard? This was however never discussed with the dealer.

So am i going to get an unexpected bonus and find xenons on my car?

I thought production had stopped, so why update the site now? or have the last few cars for these stuck on?

I noticed that Seat did this with the Leon Copa just before the latest model was released. Xenon's were either made standard or discounted heavily on the last production run.

When did you order your vRS? Whether you will get the now "standard on vRS" xenon's will depend on if yours is a new build (to order) or one that's been sat in storage somewhere.

It will be nice if the website is accurate (be warned Skoda UK are notoriously poor for accuracy on their website / configurator) as the xenon's are a great option, an expensive one too, and one I would have added anyway.

Never heard of the automatic brake drying system either!

Its approacing 3 weeks since i ordered the car, It was built at the time and was somewhere in Germany. I thought production had actually stopped then.

This xenon thing has just appeared on the site so is it a mistake? (the equipment page still lists them as a paid opttion) or am i going to get a freebie? I have emailed the salesman asking the question but i think friday is his day off.

Despite the many threads on here about the MkII vRS being discontinued there will be plenty of brand new vRS's heading over to our shores between now and when the MkIII vRS finally arrives.

It was the same with the Scout. Production was supposed to have finished in the middle of last year but dealers continue to receive unregistered brand new ones even now and most likely will do until the new MkIII Scout arrives.

Was your order standard spec (pre-built) or a unique factory order (with cost options)? I'm guessing a three week lead time suggests your order was already built and therefore if xenon's are infact now standard your order won't have them.

More than likely another ****-up by Skoda UK. Drop them an email (instead of the dealer) or give them a call. They work Friday's and are pretty good at answering the phone.

Have dropped them an email as I ama bit shy on the phone.

It might be because of the mk2 coming to an end. Lots of manifacturers do it, even inventing special editions like the azure models in the sierra
