Can you code out airbags?

Featured Replies

Hi all, can anybody tell me if you can code out front seats airbags? As I have bought vrs interior which haven't got seat airbags, but orignal's did

Thanks

You can fit resistors so you don't get the airbag light.

Cheers mike, would you know what resistors I need?

Thanks

Nope, I'm sure if you google it you will find your answers.

You can code the seat airbags out with VCDS.

Not off the top of my head but it will most likely involve changing the appropriate settings under coding or adaption in the airbag controller. Your car is a mk1 isn't it?

If you have an old copy of VAGCOM & an old airbag controller (6Q0-909-605-A), I'd not attempt to access the airbag controller

tbh, I'd look for better seats with airbags, which is basically all the decent compatible seats from the mk.4 based family.

Yeah it's a mk1 elegance

With a genuine cable a up to date software there is not a risk damaging anything like there used to be.
