octavia vrs mk1 trims? gone very light grey :(

Featured Replies

my mk1 vrs has had some use since it was built and all the bumper trims are now full of wax and faded how do we solve this???? also the window rubbers are not super black due to wax etc over time

come on guys best way to get them black and keep them black????

Autoglym bumper gel is very good or expensive but excellent G Techniq C4

Use some nut oil (i.e groundnut, peanut butter) to temporarily restore the bumper trims.

Alternatively as above, G-Techniq C4 is brilliant at restoring/protecting trims. If you go down the C4 route prep is the key - thorough clean with some multi purpose cleaner, followed by a couple of IPA wipedowns then apply.

Enjoy!

Autofinesse Revive

My personal preference for bumpers in baby oil (use lightly), beats everything on the market & the best value as a trim restorer. For a more permanent solution to grey trims, then you can get them to a near original finish by heating them up with a heat gun. Probably best to do it off the bumper so you don't damage the paint, but as you heat the trim you will see it change colour from a grey finish to black. This will work on all black plastic trim, NOT black rubber coated trim.
