Need part identified - Gear Linkage

Featured Replies

Good morning all. Yesterday I attempted to resolve the gear change issues on my 2005 Fabiz VRS....usual complaints of struggling to hit 5th-4th & 6th-5th gears.

I followed the video on Youtube, but noticed while mucking around with the two black springs it appears the white "nylon" part below has snapped. I am not sure how to explain or describe this part (I couldnt take pics yesterday) but it is cleary visible in the tutorial video and I believe this is causing the problems. Any ideas?

but could you adjust the linkage properly? or are the 2 gear rods slipping when you try to change gears?

When we were looking at adjusting, each gear went in no problm, there seems to be a little play in the spring rods, but we noticed the whole top part of this white nylon component missing, again just causing a little play. I took the car back out and no change, still really struggle in the two gears I have mentioned

Can you select all the gears no problem while the engine isn't running?

Yes, when we were looking at adjusting, all gear can be selected with ease. Same if I am just sat at idle, with clutch in all gears can be selected it is just when in motion/under revs.

Ah, strange one then. My thinking was if all gears are smooth when the engine is off, but difficult while on idle the problem may lie with the clutch.
