Abs , Traction Esp , and Tyre monitor light on dash

Featured Replies

hi all while driving on saturday all these lights came on , i turned off the car and restarted the car only the abs light was one while driving abs went off then few miles after the all came on again.

and same happened today is this the mk60 fault?

btw car is a 2006 octavia vrs

sounds like either an ABS sensor has gone, or a hub needs replacing, get the car scanned for a fault before you do anything else.

Mine did the exact same thing and it was one of the rear ABS rings that was fubar.

electronics went in the abs control unit of my 2007 vrs possibly or could be something as simple as an old battery maybe??

ok i will get it on vcds , did you have the hub changed or the sensor?

I had the same behaviour on my car and it was the rear ABS ring, needed the hub replaced and has been fine since - this seems to be quite common on this age of car. VCDS showed these errors for me:

2 Faults Found

00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46)

008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent

00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46)

003 - Mechanical Failure - Intermittent

I believe with the Teves mk60 fault you only get the TCS light stuck on, not the ABS and TPM lights as well.

I got both changed as the sensor just snapped in half as soon as I tried to get it out the hub, i'm a bit of a bull in a china shop though.

Yup Teves fault ESP light stays on whatever you do.

ABS sensor the ABS and TPM light come on but you can clear them with a code reader.

ABS sensor faults seem to be caused by a rusting sensor ring in the hub. So you need to replace the hub before the sensor or it'll just damage the new one.

I've got both problems, lucky me.

Hello

I have the same simptoms too. How can find the part number of a new rear left hub? Is it possible to replace only the ABS ring?

I don't know about the part number but apparently the ABS ring can't be replaced on its own, it needs a new hub to fix it.

John

Thanks John, I'm going to check it and I'll reply

Finally after 600km, I can say I solved the trouble.

Even deletitng the error G46 of sporadic rear left speed sensor, it re-appear after few meters so I dismounted wheel and brake disk and checked the sensor status. The magnetic ring was good and clean but I found a metallic chip attracted on the sensor. After I removed it, no more error are present up today.

sigh.

No more error lights.

New hub

New r/l sensor

Teves replacement kit

£550 all together fitted.

Horse burgers for me for a while.

Magnetic ring on the hub was trashed. I was surprised at just how much it could expand.
