Mdi

Featured Replies

Have seen new mdi for sale on eBay and wondered if it is able to be fitted and is it easy. My current stereo is the Bolero. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Should be fine as long as you have the loom (head unit to MDI controller), the black box controller (you don't need the 'cage' that VW use as it won't fit the armrest) and a fly lead to join the MDI controller to your device (iPhone, USB, mini USB).

For the full instal you'll also need a fly lead 'cover', an extension (from MDI to the previous part) and a MDI mounting bracket (although most don't bother with this).

I think Eddie_NL on here had a new MDI kit for sale recently.

I'd go to him first rather than trust eBay.

Mine's just chucked under the passenger seat (USB stick). There's no need for "constant, easy access" if you've got a reasonable capacity device on the end.
