Skoda Towbar Wiring Installation

Featured Replies

2012 Octavia 1.6 CR Estate SE

I have installed my new towbar and completed the rear end connections, but am having problems at the fusebox end.

The Skoda kit includes a three-way power lead to supply the towbar fuse sockets, I have not been able to insert these wires into the back of the fusebox. Is there a tool or a special technique?.

The instructions state that the fuse board should be unlocked before wires are inserted or removed, what does this refer to ?.

I guess the same question would apply to any additional fuse wiring for stereos etc.

thanks in advance

There are some tabs in the fuse box you have to pull out to release the pins or insert new ones then re in stall to lock pins in place.

It's a PITA to get it unlocked (I presume VAG have some proper tools to make it easier - someone with EKTA could check) and the 'My GTI' link is about the best info I've seen on the 'net to help.
