All-new Fabia Czechs in!

It's Fab! work is underway on replaceing one of the best value cars in Britan, and Auto Express has got the 1st glimps.

Our spies have spotted prototype versions of Skoda's all-new Fabia on test in Germany. While the mule vehicle might look like an ordanary Fabia Combi, closer examination of the ill fitting body panels (particuarly around the rear arch) reveals its not all what it seems. under the family lies an all new fabia platform. the fabia will be the first of a fresh crop of VW group superminis, closely followed by the VW Polo and Ibiza.

altho underpinnings will be shared, our exclusive picture of how the finished product will look reveals that the designers at the CZ manufacturer have been given more freedome than ever to create a unique appearence. following the front end styleing and overal look of the Yeti SUV concept seen at march's Geneva Motor Show- the Fabia will have a lower and sleeker shape than the existing version. unlike the current models its thought a 3 door hatch, 5 door and combi will make it to the uk, the sedan is unlikely. all Fabia's will have a more adventurouse interior built from high quality materials, altho insiders remain tight-lipped about engins in the range. its likely to adopt the latest small tdi from VW and FSI powerplants, expect a diesel hot hatch to(vRS)

launch schedual is still kept secret. but skoda has confirmed the fabia will be out in 2007 as with the Octavia the car is unlikely to appear as a concept, instead it will debut in production ready trim at one of 2006's top motorshows.

I think it looks good, like the new grille with chrome just along the top edge. :)

Yuk!

It looks like a Vauxhall Meriva.

it wont look like that!!!! its only a photoshop, on the old fabia to make it look like a new fabia dont panic! :o

Either am I it looks like all the other small hatchs on the market. The grill needs to be bolder IMO

The mock up photo looks very BMW from the front, even moreso than any previous fabia

Why wont it? It just looks like every other hideous mini MPV on the market.

That picture makes me glad i've just bought the 'old' shape Fabia...

That said, in a couple of years when it's on the road, it might not look so bad.

yuk dont like it one bit.

I disagree. For example, I found the Ford Ka hideous when it first came out, and it still looks hideous. Other cars have become more hideous as well, but that doesnt make it look any less hideous ;)

I get the feeling you find the Ford KA hideous? TBH most cars on the market aren't that great looking.

Looks like a Lupo with the sides and BMW lights.

I'll keep my 'classic' car thanks.

I say lets wait for the real thing, Don't know about you, but I find that most times either the real thing looks better than the piccy or vice versa .

Maybe if they changed the grill it would look just a tiny bit better. Still rather have my '05 v/RS when it arrives (Tuesday with any luck).

They've turned it from a small pretty car to an ugly mini-MPV. I really do not like that new shape.
