New Fabia VRS owner seeking advice...

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I’m new to the world of owning the Fabia VRS 1.4TSI as this is my first car to have Forced Induction I thought I would seek advice from people who have owned them for a while.

- What would be a good oil to use?

- Does it need to be ran on higher octane fuel or is it just for performance purposes?

- What is a reasonable temputure for the Oil to be at before being more aggressive with the throttle?

- What performance Modifications are effective on the 1.4TSI engine?

I also enjoy to drive the Car fast an thinking of taking it to Santa Pod at some point this year. I have done it a few times with my previous car, so I am fully aware of the basic principles, however I have never used a DSG box until now.

Could you guys throw some tips my way for getting the a good pull away & for optimal Revs for Gear changes?

Regards

Chris!

Just use VAG stuff, or at least I do..

It is recommended that it is run on 97RON+ but 95 is ok in an emergency...

60C minimum for me

You need to speak to VRSy about that...

I have always you 97 Ron petrol and the oil the manual says,I've had no problems with mine, you should let your car warm to 90 before you go for a spirited drive,as for upgrades I've got apr stage 1,forge intercooler, induction kit, dump valve and had the middle silencer removed and goes very well!!

Enjoy your new car. & Welcome to the forum.

The recommended Octane is 98 ron, Tesco Momentum & Shell V Power is 99 ron so all good..

Sainsburys Super Unleaded is 97 ron is probably the same price as Branded 95 ron.

If you want to use the vRS as you like i would go for the 99 ron fuel.

The 'Fabia Project Journals section' is good for seeing others Mods & some technical posts and how to do them,

you will spot the mk2 vRS threads easy enough..

eg

(many good tips in this thread.

Maybe worth noting this car featured got a Replacement engine fitted recently,

There are several other Tuned or Remaped vRS that have also had Engine Failures,

but thats just to be expected or lived with.)

Many posts on tuning back in this section if you go through the pages.
